How 1885 Grill Found a Home in Acworth
For many of our guests, hearing that we were planning to open a new 1885 Grill location in Acworth came as a surprise. With the original restaurant in the St. Elmo neighborhood and our second, 1885 Grill Ooltewah in Cambridge Square, venturing outside of the Chattanooga area came with many questions and uncertainties. Everyone we talk to asks, “Why Acworth?” For the 1885 family, that answer came easy.
How 1885 Grill Got Its Name
The origins of are name are as simple as the early beginnings of the restaurant itself. In June 2013, Leslie and Miguel Morales followed their dream and opened a small restaurant at the foot of Lookout Mountain in the historic St. Elmo neighborhood of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Residents of the neighborhood themselves, the couple loved the laid back, welcoming atmosphere of the area- where porch sitting is more than activity, rather a way of life.
