Staff Spotlight: Q&A with Chelsey

We are excited to welcome Chelsey to the dining room at 1885 Grill in St. Elmo. She’s an asset to our team and we know you’ll love her just as much as we do! We sat down for a little Q& A to get to know her just a little better.

Q: Introduce yourself and tell us about your role at 1885 Grill in St. Elmo.
A: I’m Chelsey Breedy, the new Front of House Assistant Manager.

Q: How long have you been with team in St. Elmo?
A: I’ve been at 1885 Grill since January 2023, with a brief break last winter.

Q: What are you most excited for in your new role?
A: I’m looking forward to being as helpful as possible, to both our guests and my teammates.

Q: How long have you been in the restaurant industry?
A: I have worked in restaurants since 2003, when I got my first job at my neighborhood pizza shop. I have worked primarily in the kitchen but am fluent in all areas of the restaurant. I am excited to be back on the front end!

Q: What draws you to the job?
A: I love food! I want to be able to share good food and good service with as many people as possible.

Q: Where are you from?
A: I am originally from Reading, Pennsylvania, but lived in Colorado and New Mexico for 6 years before moving to Chattanooga in 2012.

Q: What are your hobbies outside of the restaurant?
A: I enjoy spending time with my partner and 2 sons, as well as cooking, mountain biking, and taking care of our ducks, chickens and gardens.

Q: Tell us something fun about yourself.
A: I really like frogs! I build custom terrariums and collect different types of frogs. We are getting poison dart frogs soon!
