We Were Named a “Must Visit Restaurant in Chattanooga” by MSN
We had a wonderful time hosting Malika Bowling for dinner last weekend. She was in town visiting Rock City and stopped in for a quick bite after enjoying all the sights and activities that Lookout Mountain had to offer.
“If you plan on visiting Rock City in Chattanooga, you’ll no doubt work up an appetite (and a thirst) after the walk around the gardens. When you get to the bottom of the hill, you’ll be close to the 1885 Grill, a lovely restaurant in the St. Elmo area. Stop in to fuel up before getting on your way.
They have several interesting cocktails like the Garden Party pictured above, made with tequila and a hint of red pepper. Starters like Fried Green Tomatoes with a side of house made pimento cheese are perfect to kick off your meal or the crispy okra (also served with the pimento cheese).
While fried foods seen to be the bulk of the menu, you may want to try something non-fried, like the trout. Sides are hearty and delicious too- mac and cheese, creamed corn and collards- it will be difficult to choose a favorite.
Make sure to save room for a giant slice of Key Lime Pie.”
See where she dined and what she thought about the Chattanooga food scene…
